The UK insurtech sector is experiencing a marked shift toward digitisation, causing strong growth in IT hiring even as other areas of financial services scale back.

According to the UK Tech Labour Market Trends Report (Vacancysoft, July 2025), while overall insurance vacancies are forecast to fall by 17.4%, IT roles in insurtech are up 14%, and now represent around 35.5% of all insurance-sector job listings.

This growth is not just centered in London. Regions like Northern Ireland are seeing surging increases in digital hiring; this decentralisation shows that high-quality IT and transformation roles are becoming available outside the traditional tech hubs.

Employers are particularly seeking talents in data, project management, analytics and digital delivery leadership to help modernise legacy systems and improve customer experience.
